Hi every one. I have used a braille note mpower and I have a few questions. The first is does anybody know how to get the braille note on the intternet using a wirless card? Every time I try to get on the internet using my wirless card i get a message that says wireless not axctive. My next question is does human ware make an antivirus program for the braille note? And my last question is how do you scan for wireless networks? If anybody can give me some help that would be appriciated. Thanks.
I can't help you with questione one and three as I don't know step-by-step instructions, but I can tell you that no, there is no antivirus software for the BrailleNote. As always, be careful what you do online. Hopefully someone else can come in here and fill in the rest...
The braille note runs a version of pocket pc I believe 2003 unless the newest version of keysoft has updated the oprating system to wm5 or wm6. I have never heard of any viruses infecting these operating systems. not to say they don't exist but apparently if they do they are not noteworthy and have not caused trouble. There are antivirus programs for the pocket pc environment but I doubt they will run on the braile note. I'd say as the last poster did simply use commen sence when browsing the web and you'll be fine. Also, don't open e-maile attachments unless you know who there from.
I think I can help you with theise questions.
First, when you insert the card in the cf slot does it say "Card not reconized?" if it does then the wireless card is bad. is the card one of the cards that is supported on the BrailleNote? i use a SanDisk cf card and it works wonderfully.
Second, you do not need an antivirous thing because the only companies that make microsoft/keysoft together is HumanWare and SenderoGroup.
Third, insert the wireless card. make sure it says "network card ready" then hit space with o (BT) funtion with o (QT). then hit c for connectivity. hit w for wireless ethernet. then it will say wireless ethernet on? yes/no. press y. then hit s for scan for wireless networks and there you go. hit enter on one and name it and go to the main menu and save it then you can get on wirelessly.
